Consumer

According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a "consumer" means any natural person obligated or allegedly obligated to pay any debt. In common terms, a "consumer" is anyone who uses, buys, leases or otherwise takes advantage of products and/or services. You are a "consumer" when you shop, buy gas, turn on your lamp, drink water, hire a plumber, lease a car, etc.
